🏃♂️ Trail Run + Heroes & Villains Event This Weekend
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH
Good morning, New Braunfels! The weekend is officially here, and there’s no shortage of ways to get out, get active, and enjoy everything happening around our great town over the next few days. Here's a little factoid to start your day -- on this day in 1839, Sam Houston purchased his first Texas home in the historic town of Nacogdoches.

Planning your big day? This is where it all comes together. The Wedding Fair Show is happening this Sunday, April 12 from 12–4 PM at the New Braunfels Civic Center, bringing 70+ top wedding vendors under one roof with everything from venues and photographers to catering, fashion, and more.
You’ll get front-row access to runway shows, exclusive show-only deals, and endless inspiration to make planning way easier (and way more fun). And yes, one lucky bride will win diamond stud earrings valued at $2,750, plus there are more giveaways throughout the day.

A scenic run with a purpose right here in New Braunfels
The 8th Annual Sweaty Yeti 5K Trail Run is happening Saturday morning at the Landa Park Dance Slab (110 Golf Course Rd), giving runners and outdoor lovers a chance to take on one of the area’s original trail races. Whether you’re racing for time or just out to enjoy the experience, it’s a great way to start your weekend surrounded by nature.
Beyond the run itself, the event supports the Comal Trails Alliance and its mission to expand and improve trail access across the county. It’s a chance to get active while giving back to the local outdoor community at the same time.

A fun, family-friendly event supporting an important cause
Fiesta of Heroes & Villains returns Saturday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Comal County Sheriff’s Posse (3826 Morningside Drive), bringing a full day of activities centered around child abuse awareness. Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero or villain and enjoy a lively, welcoming atmosphere.
The event features local vendors, a silent auction, a kids bike giveaway, and even a motorcycle show, making it a fun outing for all ages. With free admission and a meaningful cause behind it, it’s an easy way to spend part of your day making a difference.

Health insurance shouldn’t feel like a gamble, but for a lot of families and small business owners, it does. Rising costs, confusing terms, and plans that don’t quite fit your needs? Yeah… not ideal.
That’s where Penn Mallery comes in. As a Hill Country–based health insurance expert, he helps you cut through the noise and build a custom PPO plan that actually works for your life and budget. No cookie-cutter options, just real guidance so you can make a confident decision.

Some homes are impressive. Others tell a story. The historic Dittlinger Estate at 372 Magazine Ave is firmly in the second category. Built in 1910 and located in the sought-after Sophienburg Hill Historic District, this 4,591 sq ft property sits on 1.6 acres and reflects a level of craftsmanship and legacy that’s nearly impossible to replicate today.
From its symmetrical columned porches and dramatic bay windows to the rare full basement and longleaf pine construction, every detail speaks to timeless design. The estate also includes a carriage house, guest residence, and additional structures, all surrounded by mature pecan trees and beautifully maintained grounds, plus a pool and spa that blend modern comfort with historic charm.
Located just minutes from downtown, Landa Park, and the Comal River, this is a chance to own something deeply rooted in the city’s history.
