🎬 Free Movie Night, Local History Event, + Weekend Fun

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Happy Friday! The weekend is officially here, but it’s off to a wet start. We’re under a Flood Watch right now, so please make sure to stay safe and aware of conditions.

Otherwise, there’s already a couple solid options lined up whether you’re planning something with the family or looking to get out and do something a little different around town.

Newman & Company is leveling up. The locally owned med spa is preparing to open a brand-new 5,400-square-foot location at 617 Gruene Road this June, and it’s designed to take the entire experience to the next level. We drove by the spot yesterday, and construction is moving right along at a fast pace.

Get ready for more space, upgraded treatment rooms, expanded retail, and an overall more elevated feel from the moment you walk in. Until then, they’re still seeing clients at their current Elliott Knox location, but this next chapter is one you’ll want to keep an eye on.

A cozy, low-effort night out the whole family will enjoy

If you’re looking for something easy and fun to kick off the weekend, this is it. A free Family Movie Night is happening tonight from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the McKenna Events Center, featuring a screening of Zootopia 2.

Doors open at 5:30 PM, with the movie starting at 6:00 PM. Bring blankets and pillows, get comfortable, and settle in for a relaxed night with snacks and drinks available while supplies last. It’s PG-rated, so it’s a great option for families with kids of all ages.

Celebrate the La Calera dedication and explore New Braunfels’ past

If you’re in the mood for something meaningful and a little different, the La Calera Marker Dedication is happening on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Sophienburg Museum and Archives.

This special event highlights an important part of local history, and to celebrate, the museum is offering free admission for all ages throughout the day. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the community and experience the exhibit firsthand.

This Friday night, Los Rangerz are rolling into Happy Cow with a high-energy, honky-tonk sound that’s built for a good time. Made up of members of the former Chad Cooke Band, they’re bringing that same crowd-favorite country vibe starting at 8:30 PM. This is a ticketed show, so make sure to grab yours for just $11 each.

And it’s not just a show, it’s a celebration. Happy Cow is marking its 12th anniversary all weekend long with drink specials, so you’ve got even more reason to show up, stay awhile, and make a night of it.

The layout is built for real life, with a main-level primary suite, dedicated office, formal dining, and an upstairs loft that gives you flexibility for whatever you need.
