šŸŽøLabor Day Jam, Another Business Closes, & More

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Happy Friday, New Braunfels! The long weekend is here, and there’s no shortage of music, markets, and community fun waiting for you. Whether you’re making plans for a night out, a family day, or just want to know what’s happening around town, we’ve got you covered.

If someone has been drinking and gets pulled over, it’s easy to panic, but knowing a few key facts can make a big difference. Our partners at Kyle Law Firm are sharing three important things every Texan should know:

  1. Don’t panic. Stay calm, keep your hands visible, and follow instructions.

  2. Be respectful. You don’t have to answer every question, but being polite can help keep things from escalating.

  3. Field sobriety tests are optional. In Texas, drivers are not legally required to perform roadside tests like walking a line or following a pen with their eyes.

Understanding your rights doesn’t mean you’re hiding something. It means you’re protecting yourself.

For anyone facing a DWI stop or charge, Kyle Law Firm offers experienced, judgment-free legal help.

You can call them at (830) 620-9402 or visit their website for more info.

A full day of live music and drink specials to close out summer

This Sunday, The Villa is turning the holiday into a full-on celebration with its Labor Day Jam. The all-day party kicks off at noon and rolls until close, featuring a lineup of rock favorites that will keep the energy high.

Buddy Vargas takes the stage from 2–5 p.m., followed by A. Wright from 5–8 p.m., and Austin Gilliam will close things down from 8–11 p.m. With drink specials flowing all day and the perfect excuse of a Monday holiday, there’s no better way to rock into September.

A beloved dining and entertainment spot passes the torch to The Abbott House

It’s been a bittersweet week for New Braunfels. Following the news of Billy’s Ice closing, another local favorite has announced its end: Sylver Spoon Dinner Theater has officially closed after eight years of blending fine dining with live entertainment.

Known for multi-course dinners paired with live theater, comedy, and even murder mystery nights, Sylver Spoon carved out a unique niche in town.

But the lights aren’t dimming for good. Signature dishes and events like ā€œDate Night Comedyā€ and Music Bingo are moving to The Abbott House in Seguin, where gift cards will be honored through September.
