šŸ€ St. Patrick’s Party, River Music & A Free Gardening Seminar

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Good morning and Happy Thursday, New Braunfels. The weekend is almost here, and there are plenty of ways to get out and enjoy it around town. From an early St. Patrick’s Day celebration and live music along the Guadalupe River to a free gardening seminar that can help you start growing your own vegetables and herbs, today’s edition highlights a few events worth adding to your plans.

Health insurance has become one of the biggest stress points for families and small business owners. Between rising premiums and confusing coverage details, it’s easy to wonder if your current plan is really the best fit.

Our partner Penn Mallery, a Hill Country–based health insurance expert, helps families and small businesses explore custom PPO plans tailored to their needs and budgets. Instead of a one-size-fits-all policy, Penn works with clients to design coverage that makes sense for their situation while simplifying the process along the way.

A lively Saturday celebration with music, drinks, and plenty of green

Krause’s Cafe is kicking off the St. Patrick’s Day festivities early with a celebration happening this Saturday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The block party will feature four full bars, grab-and-go food options, and drink specials to keep the beer flowing throughout the evening.

Guests can also enjoy live music from Yesenia & The Groove Doctors from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, bringing high-energy entertainment to the beer garden. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick drink or planning to stay for the music, it’s the perfect chance to throw on something green and celebrate with friends.

Food, tubes, and music return along the Guadalupe River

River season is officially getting started as Lone Star Float House & Grill kicks off its 2026 season on Saturday with live music from Geoffrey Hill of the Randy Rogers Band and their amazing burgers back on the menu.

The Float House opens from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, giving visitors plenty of time to float the chute, grab one of their famous burgers, and enjoy drinks by the river before the music begins. With picnic tables set directly in the water and a relaxed family-friendly atmosphere, it’s a classic New Braunfels river day.

One of New Braunfels’ newest public parks just hit a milestone. Fairway Park at Mayfair recently celebrated its one-year anniversary, and it’s quickly become a favorite spot for families, walkers, cyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts.

The park offers something for everyone, including a colorful kids’ playscape, a winding walking trail, an 18-hole disc golf course, and a popular bike pump track designed for riders to flow through rollers, banks, and berms without pedaling.

Fairway Park is the first of many public parks planned for Mayfair, a growing community in North New Braunfels designed around connection and outdoor living. When complete, the development will feature over 300 acres of parks and open space connected by 35 miles of trails, along with new homes, schools, and a future shopping and dining district.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, this is the perfect excuse to visit. Fairway Park is open daily from dawn to dusk and ready for your next outdoor adventure. Click here to learn more.

With energy costs climbing, your roof can make a bigger difference than you might think. Metal roofing reflects heat more efficiently than traditional shingles, which can help reduce cooling costs during long Texas summers while keeping your home more comfortable.

Metal roofs are also built to handle hail, wind, and harsh Hill Country weather, making them a durable long-term investment for your home. Our partners at Wilson Roofing and Renovations customize every metal roof by panel style, profile, color, and more, so you get both the protection and the look you want.

DID YOU KNOW?

New Braunfels’ iconic Victorian fountain has stood at the center of Main Plaza since 1896, even before the bandstand, landscaping, or paved streets. Chosen from a J.L. Mott Iron Works catalog for about $3,000, the statue known as The Vase Bearer quickly became the plaza’s first landmark and gathering place. Over nearly 130 years, she has survived droughts, freezes, pranksters ā€œsoapingā€ the fountain, multiple restorations, and even a drunk driver in 1994 — only to be rebuilt in time for the city’s 150th anniversary.
