🎶 Live @ Landa Returns, Kite Day, & More New Braunfels Fun

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Good morning, New Braunfels! Fun fact to kick things off: On this day back in 1845, Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels woke up to a snowstorm along the Guadalupe River while scouting the land that would soon become New Braunfels. Just two days later, the first settlers crossed the river, marking what we now celebrate as Founder’s Day.

Fast forward 181 years, and there’s no shortage of things happening around town today. Here’s what to check out...

If you’ve lived in New Braunfels long enough, you know your roof takes a beating. From intense summer heat to hail and strong winds, it needs to hold up year after year, and metal roofing is built to do exactly that. With longer lifespan, strong durability, and energy-efficient heat reflection, metal roofs are quickly becoming a go-to option for homeowners looking for long-term value.

Our partners at Wilson Roofing and Renovations offer fully customizable metal roofing with options for panel width, profile, and color, so you get both performance and curb appeal. Plus, they offer free consultations and financing options to make the process easier.

The Joel Hofmann Band will take the stage, setting the tone for a relaxing night under the trees. Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket, grab a bite from local vendors like The Dawg Haus and Gold Star Kettle Corn, and enjoy a classic New Braunfels evening outdoors.

Willie Nelson once climbed through a window at Gruene Hall to get on stage during a 1998 benefit concert, and that spontaneous moment became the now-famous “Willie Window” entrance still used today.

Rising health insurance costs are putting serious pressure on Texas families. Recent data shows households are spending an average of 10.9% of their income on employer-sponsored premiums and deductibles alone, more than $11,000 a year, before copays or other out-of-pocket costs are even considered.

If your current plan feels expensive or confusing, it may be time to explore other options. Hill Country health insurance expert Penn Mallery helps families and small business owners find custom PPO plans built around real needs and realistic budgets, not one-size-fits-all coverage.
