Happy Thursday, New Braunfels! The weekend is almost here, and today's edition is all about making the most of it. Starting today through Saturday (August 6–8), the New Braunfels Railroad Museum is hosting its brand-new Model Train Workshop for kids ages 7–12. This hands-on experience introduces young builders to the exciting world of model railroading, where they'll learn track laying, scenery building, weathering techniques, and other creative skills that bring miniature railroads to life.

Whether your child already loves trains or simply enjoys building and creating, this workshop is a fun way to spark imagination, develop new skills, and explore a unique hobby.

Catch four incredible songwriters sharing stories and songs in an unforgettable underground setting

Looking for a truly unique concert experience? On Friday, August 7, the Songwriters Song Swap returns to one of New Braunfels' most distinctive venues at Natural Bridge Caverns, bringing together Jessee Lee, Cameron Wrinkle, Pug Johnson, and Bo Moore for an intimate evening of original music and storytelling.

Known as the deepest live music venue in Texas, this underground setting offers fans an up-close experience with four talented artists as they perform stripped-down sets, share the stories behind their songs, and create an unforgettable night of live music.

Live music, drink specials, and nonstop pop hits await this Saturday night

Pop Night is taking over Moonshine & Ale NB on Saturday, August 8, with festivities beginning at 4 PM and live music kicking off at 8:30 PM. Guests can enjoy an evening filled with pop music, dancing, and late-night entertainment, along with drink specials including $6 High Noons and $4 White Claws.

Whether you're celebrating with friends or just looking for a fun night out downtown, Pop Night promises an energetic atmosphere that will keep the party going well into the evening.

The City of New Braunfels is working toward an ambitious goal: Vision Zero by 2040.

The initiative is focused on making local roads safer through improvements like better street design, smarter speed management, expanded bike infrastructure, and added safety measures in high-risk areas. The long-term goal is to eliminate serious injuries and traffic fatalities by creating a safer transportation system for everyone.

After more than six decades, Johnson Furniture Co. is preparing to close its doors

After serving generations of New Braunfels families, Johnson Furniture Co. has announced it will permanently close on September 30 as owner Carol Johnson retires. The family-owned business has been a fixture in downtown New Braunfels for more than 60 years, building a reputation for quality furniture and personalized service.

The store's End of Business Sale is now underway, with discounts increasing each week as the closing date approaches. For many longtime residents, the announcement marks the end of an important chapter in the city's history.
