PAWS to Read Returns to the New Braunfels Public Library
PAWS to Read offers young readers a calm, encouraging way to practice reading aloudāby reading to certified therapy animals at the New Braunfels Public Library. Designed especially for early childhood and elementary readers, the program helps build literacy skills and confidence in a pressure-free, supportive setting.
The program runs from 4:00ā5:00 PM this Friday, February 6, and again on Friday, March 6, in the libraryās main meeting room. Itās free to attend and open to all ages, making it an easy, feel-good addition to the week.

New Braunfelsā Wildest River Race Fills All Spots Fast

One of New Braunfelsā most iconic spring events is already making waves. The Cityās Thru the Chute cardboard boat race is back for its 15th year, and all of the free spectator tickets were claimed within the first hour, along with full boat registration.
New ticketing rules were introduced this year to better manage crowds and improve safety along the Comal River. While in-person access is capped, the City plans to offer a free livestream and downtown watch parties, keeping the fun accessible for everyone.
