A unique craft festival returns to Guadalupe Brewing Company this Saturday

The 2nd Annual Hive & Hop Festival is happening Saturday, March 14th from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Guadalupe Brewing Company & Pizza Kitchen in New Braunfels. Hosted by Valkyrie’s Kiss Meadery and Guadalupe Brewing Company, this one-of-a-kind event celebrates craft beer, mead, and local honey with tastings, live music, and a lively festival atmosphere.

Guests can enjoy $5 samples of barrel-aged and specialty meads, explore offerings from local honey producers, and take advantage of an exclusive Hive & Hop menu created for the event. Live music from Matthew Butler and the Chris Boss Band will keep the energy going throughout the afternoon, while raffle proceeds and mead sample sales will benefit the Pink Warriors Non-Profit.

A full weekend of fandom returns to New Braunfels

Fans of comics, pop culture, and collectibles can head to Hill Country Comicon 2026, happening this Saturday and Sunday at the New Braunfels Civic & Convention Center (375 S Castell Ave). Now in its 7th year, the event brings together celebrity guests, artists, vendors, cosplay, and family-friendly entertainment for a full weekend celebration of fandom.

New this year is the TCG Showcase, a special area dedicated to trading card games like Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and One Piece, where collectors can browse vendors, hunt for cards, and connect with fellow fans. Along with comics and collectibles, the event offers plenty of interactive experiences and activities for visitors of all ages.

Spring Break is a time to relax, explore New Braunfels, and enjoy time with family and friends. Whether you’re tubing the river, heading to local events, or just getting out around town, it’s always smart to stay safe and look out for one another.

A relaxed evening of film and fellowship for all ages

Applications Open For New Braunfels Boards And Commissions
Residents interested in getting involved with local government now have the opportunity to apply for New Braunfels boards and commissions. Applications for the spring cycle are open now and must be submitted by March 31, 2026. Those interested can view the full list of open positions and apply at newbraunfels.gov/apply.

Historic Riverside Retreat Reopens As Petit Cowboy
A historic property along the Comal River in New Braunfels has been revitalized and reopened as Petit Cowboy, a restored riverside retreat originally dating back to the 1930s. The 23-cabin property was renovated by hospitality group French Cowboys, blending Hill Country charm with modern amenities and family-friendly spaces designed for year-round stays.

Apple Seeds Apartments Target Summer Opening
The Apple Seeds Apartments, a transitional housing project led by the San Antonio Food Bank and New Braunfels Food Bank, is expected to open this summer in New Braunfels. The 52-unit development will provide below-market apartments along with job training, financial literacy programs, and food access services to help families stabilize and transition to permanent housing.

Sno Cones With SROs Returns This Friday
Students and families are invited to attend Sno Cones With SROs on Friday, March 13 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Bahama Buck’s (804 N Loop 337, Suite 105). Hosted by the Comal County Sheriff’s Office and New Braunfels Police Department, the event offers a chance to meet local School Resource Officers, enjoy tabletop games, and connect with officers in a relaxed setting. The first 50 sno cones will be free.

Schlitterbahn Reveals New 2026 Water Slide
Schlitterbahn New Braunfels has unveiled a new attraction for the 2026 season called Wasserbahn Racers, a three-lane mat racing slide built into the hillside near the Comal River. The 278-foot course reaches speeds of over 24 mph and allows riders to race side-by-side with real-time timing at the finish. The park opens for the season May 2nd, with season pass holders getting the first chance to ride.
