🌊 Summer Kickoff, Public Art, & A New Park Comes to Town

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Happy Wednesday, New Braunfels! We’re halfway to the weekend, and today’s edition is packed with local events, outdoor fun, and community happenings around town. We’ve got a river fundraiser kickoff at The Float In, a unique downtown mural and music experience, details on the massive new Zipp Family Sports Park officially opening next month, and a whole lot more.

What started in a garage back in 2015 has grown into one of New Braunfels’ biggest local success stories. Founder and New Braunfels native Rhi Newman launched Newman & Company with a vision to combine beauty, wellness, and science in a more personalized way, and the community clearly responded.

Now, Newman & Company is preparing for its next major chapter with a brand-new 5,400-square-foot location on Gruene Road expected to open this June. It’s another huge milestone for the locally built brand that continues to grow right here in the Hill Country.

A day of floating, fun, and community support is coming to The Float In

The Float In is hosting a Summer Kickoff fundraiser today from 12-6 pm, giving locals a chance to enjoy the Comal River while supporting New Braunfels Thunder. The event will feature discounted floating rates, tube rentals, and a full afternoon of river fun right along the Tube Chute.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children, with all proceeds benefiting New Braunfels Thunder programs and activities. Families, friends, and supporters are invited to spend the day outside while helping raise money for local athletes and teams.

Live music and guided mural stops are turning downtown into an interactive art experience

Music at the Mural returns on Saturday from 9-11 am, giving visitors a chance to explore some of downtown New Braunfels’ most recognizable murals while enjoying live music along the way. The free event includes multiple stops featuring local artists, DJs, and musicians performing near public art installations throughout downtown.

Guests can also enjoy free admission to the New Braunfels Railroad Museum during the event, plus popcorn, drinks, and opportunities to learn more about the stories behind the city’s growing mural scene.

ESCAPE TO ONE OF AUSTIN’S MOST BEAUTIFUL HISTORIC HOTELS

If you’ve been thinking about planning a quick getaway to Austin, Hotel Ella might be one of the most unique stays in the city. Originally built as a historic mansion in the early 1900s, the property has since been transformed into a boutique hotel that combines old Texas charm with modern luxury. Located just steps from the University of Texas and close to downtown, it’s an easy home base for exploring Austin’s restaurants, live music, nightlife, and outdoor spots like Barton Springs.

Guests can stay inside the original mansion or in the hotel’s modern wing while enjoying amenities like the pool, outdoor spaces, dining, cocktails, and curated hotel packages. The property also has a fascinating history tied to Ella Newsome Wooten, whose vision helped shape the iconic estate more than a century ago. Whether you’re planning a romantic weekend, staycation, girls’ trip, or summer escape, Hotel Ella offers a much different experience than your typical Austin hotel.
