The Comal County Senior Citizens Foundation is inviting the community to its annual Sizzlin' For Seniors BBQ Bash Benefit on Friday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The event raises funds for programs that support local seniors, including home-delivered meals, fitness classes, wellness services, and educational opportunities.
Guests can enjoy barbecue, drinks, live entertainment, silent auction shopping, and the return of the popular frog and duck raffle. Every ticket, raffle entry, and auction purchase helps provide important services and meaningful connections for seniors throughout Comal County.
A classic adventure movie meets a poolside summer evening.
Families are invited to Das Rec for a special Dive-In Movie featuring The Goonies on June 12 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Guests can float in the pool, swim, or relax poolside while enjoying the beloved adventure film on the big screen.
Admission is $10, and attendees will receive complimentary popcorn and popsicles. It's a fun way to cool off, spend time with family, and enjoy one of the most iconic family movies ever made.

Gruene Saloon Planned For Former Hunter Junction Property
A longtime property in the heart of Gruene could soon get a new chapter. State records show plans for a $100,000 renovation of the former Hunter Junction building on Gruene Road, transforming it into a new concept called Gruene Saloon. The project includes a new bar, updated restrooms, and interior improvements, with construction expected to wrap up later this summer.
Hunter Road Country Club Officially Opens
After months of anticipation, Hunter Road Country Club officially opened its doors this week. The locally owned venue features pool tables, darts, a jukebox, an outdoor patio bar, and a laid-back atmosphere designed to bring locals and visitors together, no membership required.
Free Summer Meals Available Through Comal ISD
Comal ISD is once again helping keep kids fed this summer through a partnership with the San Antonio Food Bank. Free breakfast and lunch meals are available at select campuses, while additional locations are distributing 10-day meal kits for children 18 and younger.
Free Family Fun Returns To Heritage Village
The Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture is hosting its monthly 2nd Saturday at Heritage Village event on June 13. Families can enjoy living historians, nature trails, hands-on activities, and free toy-making demonstrations, all at no cost.
