The first-ever Texas Hill Country Game Fair is set for June 20â21 at Joshua Creek Ranch a short drive away in Boerne, and itâs bringing a full weekend of family-friendly outdoor fun. Presented by the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, this brand-new event will feature archery, fishing, shooting competitions, dog demos, a vendor village, and moreâall at one of Texasâ top sporting resorts.
Friday night kicks off with chef-prepared bites and a live auction, while Saturday packs in hands-on activities, great food, and awesome door prizes (youâve got to be there to win).

PET PAWLOOZA NOW SET FOR SUMMER 2026
Humane Society preps for its biggest fundraiser yet
The Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area just announced that the first edition of its major new event Pet Pawlooza will now debut June 13, 2026 at the New Braunfels Civic Convention Center.
The event was originally set to premiere this coming weekend, but for now, pet lovers will have to wait just a bit longer until next summerâs exciting show.
Sponsored by Creek View Veterinary Clinic, this celebration of pet lovers and animal advocacy is shaping up to be the organizationâs biggest fundraiser to date.
While it wonât take place this summer, the planning is already underwayâand the Humane Society is calling for community supporters who align with their mission: lifelong pet commitment, proper care, regular vet visits, and more. Expect vendor booths, activities, and a celebration of all things paws and whiskers.
Itâs never too early to get involved or support the cause. If youâre a business, nonprofit, or individual who wants to help shape this event, nowâs the time to reach out.

đ Golf Cart Crash Sends 9 to Hospital
A golf cart flipped at Camp Fimfo near Canyon Lake, injuring nine vacationersâboth adults and children. All were transported to a nearby hospital and are expected to recover.
đŁ Walnut Avenue Repaving Begins June 22
Overnight repaving will begin this Sunday from County Line to Klein Road. Expect alternating lane closures from 7 pm to 7 am each night.
đ Utility Rate Hikes Get Initial Approval
New Braunfels City Council has given initial approval for rate hikes on water, sewer, and electric service through 2026. Final vote expected June 23, with potential rate increases starting on August 1.
đ City Announces Juneteenth Holiday Closures
Many City of New Braunfels facilities will be closed on Thursday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. This includes City Hall, the public libraries, Civic Center, recycling center, and several Parks & Rec offices.
