Good morning, New Braunfels. Our hearts are still heavy after the historic flooding that’s deeply affected our neighbors in Kerrville and the surrounding area. But we’ve also seen the very best of our community rising up to help.

🚨 DONATION DRIVE FOR COMFORT

Let’s Come Together for Comfort, TX 💛

Our neighbors in Comfort are still reeling from the devastating flooding, and they need us. A group of local Jeepers is organizing a community-wide donation drive this week to deliver essential supplies directly to affected families.

📍 Drop-Off Location: Walnut 6 Parking Lot (across from H-E-B)
🗓️ Wednesday 7/9 & Thursday 7/10
🕕 6 PM – 9 PM

The group will hand-deliver donations to Comfort on Friday.

REQUESTED SUPPLIES:

Hygiene Items:
Toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant, wipes, hand sanitizer, and women’s hygiene products.

Food & Beverage:
Protein bars, non-perishable snacks, hydration drinks (like Gatorade/Powerade).

Other Essentials:
Bug spray, sunblock, first aid supplies.

🍔 P. TERRY’S DONATING 100% OF THURSDAY PROFITS TO FLOOD RELIEF

Grab a Burger and Help Central Texas Rebuild

P. Terry’s Burger Stand is stepping up in a major way. This Thursday, July 10, the beloved Austin-based chain will donate 100% of profits from all 36 locations to the Austin Disaster Relief Network, supporting communities devastated by the Texas floods.

Whether you're craving a burger or just want to make a difference, head to P. Terry’s on Thursday and be part of something bigger.

Other major Texas brands — including Kendra Scott, Walmart, Texas Roadhouse, and more — are also pitching in to help with recovery efforts across Kerrville, Comfort, and beyond.

🚨 SCAM ALERT: FAKE DONATION CALLS IN COMAL COUNTY

Comal County has received reports of scam callers pretending to collect donations for flood victims.

Important:

  • Comal County is not calling residents to solicit donations.

  • Never share your financial or personal information with unknown callers.

  • If you want to donate, stick to trusted local drives and nonprofits.

🐝 Buzz Around Town

💦 River Access Still Closed in New Braunfels

Due to high flow, submerged debris, and murky conditions from the recent rains, access to both the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers remains closed as of the time of this writing. Officials will reevaluate conditions later this morning.

The Springfed Pool at Landa Park is also closed, though the Olympic and Zero Depth pools remain open.

🚱 Canyon Lake Area Under Boil Water Notice

The Texas Water Company has issued a boil water notice for dozens of neighborhoods near Canyon Lake due to flooding contamination. This is NOT for New Braunfels. This affects drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and bathing — especially for vulnerable residents.

🥙 CAVA is Coming to New Braunfels

Popular Mediterranean chain Cava is planning a new location at 323 Creekside Crossing, though an opening date hasn’t been announced yet. Expect build-your-own bowls, pita wraps, and plenty of tzatziki. We’ll share updates as soon as construction is underway.
