Whether you're an experienced knitter or just learning to crochet, Sit & Stitch at the New Braunfels Public Library is the perfect place to connect with fellow makers. Held every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 pm, this casual gathering welcomes anyone interested in knitting, crocheting, embroidery, or other stitching crafts.

Bring your current project, swap ideas and techniques, or simply enjoy good conversation while you create. Beginners, experienced crafters, teens, adults, and seniors are all invited to join this friendly community event.

McKenna Children's Museum is inviting families to a free Family Movie Night on Friday, July 24, at the McKenna Events Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the PG-rated movie beginning at 6:00 p.m., making it the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

Bring your favorite blanket or pillow for a cozy movie experience, and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks while supplies last. Thanks to the support of New Braunfels Pediatric Dental Associates, this family-friendly event is completely free to attend.

Most people know Martin Bomba as the owner of Window World TX, but his passion for serving the community goes far beyond home remodeling. Every Thursday, he hosts The Bomba Pod, featuring conversations with local leaders, entrepreneurs, and inspiring guests about leadership, resilience, and personal growth. Then on Saturdays from 9–11 a.m., tune in to The Rockin' Home Show on KTSA, where Martin answers live home improvement questions and shares expert advice alongside industry professionals.

Kids can build their own pirate puppet during this week-long creative activity

Young imaginations will be hard at work during Wondershop – Pirate Craft at McKenna Children's Museum. Running through July 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day, children can design and create their very own pirate puppet using colorful craft materials and plenty of creativity.

Whether their pirate wears an eye patch, sports a wild costume, or has a unique disguise, every child will leave with a one-of-a-kind creation. The activity is included with museum admission, making it an easy addition to a day of family fun.

Free Ice Cream Event Coming to Frost in New Braunfels
Need a break from the summer heat? Frost is hosting a free Sweet Treats event at its New Braunfels location on Landa St. this Friday from 2-4 pm, serving Marble Slab ice cream to visitors while supplies last. The family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

Historic Walnut 6 Sign Gets a New Home
One of New Braunfels' most recognizable landmarks is getting a second life. The city has acquired the historic Walnut 6 movie theater sign and plans to relocate it to the future Walnut Branch Library in 2028, where it will display community announcements, library events, and public meeting information.

The Clubhouse Opening in New Braunfels This August
A new community gathering space called The Clubhouse is set to open in early August on Trade Center Drive. The venue will offer flexible space for parties, classes, business meetings, practices, content creation, and community events, giving local entrepreneurs and organizations a place to grow.

Local Fabric Shop Expanding to a Larger Location
Snippets, a locally owned fabric and quilting shop, is relocating to East Common Street later this month after quickly outgrowing its current space. The larger location will allow the business to introduce sewing and quilting classes, along with longarm rental services beginning in August.

City Launches Independent Review of Police Headquarters
New Braunfels has hired a third-party engineering firm to conduct a comprehensive structural analysis of its police headquarters following ongoing concerns about roof leaks, pavement movement, and other building issues. The city expects the assessment to be completed in October and will use the findings to determine the next steps.

Unicorns Reveal Historic 100th Season Football Schedule
The New Braunfels Unicorns have officially released their 2026 football schedule, marking the program's historic 100th season. Fans can look forward to a milestone year celebrating one of the area's most storied high school football traditions.
