Experience a true World War II romance on stage at Circle Arts Theatre

Dear Jack, Dear Louise opens this weekend at Circle Arts Theatre, running August 14–23. Written by award-winning playwright Ken Ludwig, the play follows U.S. Army Captain Jack Ludwig and aspiring actress Louise Rabiner as they build a relationship through letters while separated by World War II.

Inspired by the real courtship of Ludwig's parents, the production blends humor, emotion, and history into a warm story about love and hope during uncertain times. Performances are held Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM at Circle Arts Theatre, 124 Elizabeth St.

YOU’LL SOON BE ABLE TO GRAB A DRINK AT NEW BRAUNFELS' NEW BEER GARDEN

Five Stones Artisan Brewery is bringing new life to a familiar downtown space

Beer lovers will soon have another reason to raise a glass this month. Five Stones Artisan Brewery is preparing to open Braunfelser Beer and Wine Garden at the former Faust Brewing Co. location at 499 S. Castell Ave., bringing a new beer garden concept closer to downtown.

The space is expected to open very soon and will give Five Stones owner Seth Weatherly another opportunity to grow the Hill Country brand after 14 years in the craft beer business. Despite the challenges facing breweries across Texas, Weatherly is betting on the New Braunfels location and looking ahead to big plans for the space.

Mayfair residents now have a brand-new place to cool off and enjoy the summer. The new Midtown Swim Club is officially open, featuring a stunning two-tier pool, poolside cabanas, a covered pavilion, and flexible lawn spaces perfect for relaxing, gathering with friends, or spending time with family.

It's another exciting addition to our partners at Mayfair, where the goal is to create more than just a neighborhood. With parks, trails, Celebration Hall, community events, and now Midtown Swim Club, Mayfair continues to create spaces that bring neighbors together and make everyday life feel a little more enjoyable.
