Two women, 40 characters, endless laughs

Circle Arts Theatre brings high-energy comedy to the stage with Parallel Lives, running August 15–24. Two powerhouse performers take on 40 roles in just two hours, jumping from Supreme Beings to awkward teens, sisters at a funeral, and more in rapid-fire scenes that are hilarious and heartfelt.

Recommended for ages 18+, tickets are $25 at CircleArtsTheatre.org, with a Pay What You Can night on August 16. Now in its 57th season, Circle Arts continues its tradition of bold, engaging performances that keep New Braunfels laughing.

Luau-themed night brings music, games, and more for ages 13–17

The Teen Advisory Board at the Westside Community Center is sending summer out in style with a tropical-themed Back-to-School Dance on Friday, August 15, from 6–8 pm.

Teens can enjoy music, dancing, photo ops, refreshments, and a video game lounge inside Armadillo Hall.

This free event is open to ages 13–17 and offers the perfect way to connect with friends before the school year kicks off.

Live music, local talent, and support for pets in need

Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 17, when One-S Fest takes over Billy’s Ice from noon to 10 pm. Hosted by Mark Allan Atwood and the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area, this all-day celebration of second chances features live performances by Texas artists and raises funds for local pets in need.

Admission is free, with donations encouraged at the door. Proceeds help the HSNBA rescue and care for animals right here in New Braunfels, making it a day of music and community for a cause.

National Night Out 2025 Returns October 7
Last week, we shared the wrong date—here’s the correct one. National Night Out is happening Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 4–8 pm, with two ways to participate. Join the big event at the Westside Library for police K-9 and drone demos, vehicle displays, storytime with first responders, crafts, and games—or host your own neighborhood block party.

Downtown Paid Parking Brings in $30K in First Month
New Braunfels’ new $2/hour downtown parking program has been in effect for over a month, generating $30,012 in revenue with about 90% voluntary compliance. In July, 1,490 citations were issued for nonregistration or overstays, though nearly 470 drivers resolved tickets without paying penalties.

City Approves $3.8M for College Expansion
The City of New Braunfels will provide an additional $3.8 million to Northeast Lakeview College to convert a former call center into classrooms and labs. The new campus, located near Gruene, is expected to open in fall 2026 and eventually serve over 1,000 students.

Fruition Fruit Blendz Opening First Storefront
Popular local acai bowl and smoothie truck Fruition Fruit Blendz will open a brick-and-mortar location this fall at 840 S. Business I-35. The menu will expand to include coffee, gourmet toasts, and juice cleanses, with space for guests to work or relax.

Legend Point Elementary Opens This Month
New Braunfels ISD cut the ribbon on Legend Point Elementary, its newest campus serving grades K–5. Built with funds from the 2018 Bond Program, the two-story school will open to students Aug. 18, easing crowding at Klein Road and Voss Farms elementaries.
