A scenic race with music, charm, and a touch of Texas history

Get ready to lace up! On Saturday, September 13, the Gruene 10K & 5K invites runners of all levels to take on a course that winds through the heart of historic Gruene. Starting right in front of Gruene Hall—the oldest dance hall in Texas—participants will enjoy a mix of scenic streets, live music vibes, and the unique energy that only this legendary town can offer.

Whether you’re chasing a personal record or simply soaking in the sights, this race combines fitness, fun, and a little local history for an unforgettable morning. Don’t forget to register early and get ready to hit the pavement with some of New Braunfels’ most iconic views.

A solemn ceremony remembering the heroes and lives lost

On Thursday, September 11, the City of New Braunfels will host a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Beginning at 7:25am, the New Braunfels Fire Department and Police Department Honor Guard will march from the downtown Central Fire Station on Hill Avenue to the Main Plaza, where a flag raising and lowering ceremony will take place at 7:46am—the exact time American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower.

Attendees will witness brief remarks from local dignitaries, a bell ringing in honor of fallen first responders, and a stirring performance of Amazing Grace by the New Braunfels Firefighters Pipes and Drums. This ceremony is a chance for the community to come together, remember, and reflect.

✨ Gather at the Main Plaza flagpole and bandstand to participate in this meaningful tribute.

New Braunfels water is some of the hardest in Texas—measuring 13.7 to 17.4 grains per gallon. While safe to drink, those high mineral levels leave behind soap scum, scale buildup, and can even shorten the life of your appliances. Not to mention, showers just don’t feel as refreshing. 🚿

That’s where our partners at Aqua-Man Water Conditioning come in. For over 30 years, they’ve helped local families enjoy better-tasting water, protect their plumbing, and save money on maintenance and bottled water. Ready to see the difference softer water makes?
